Starting the New Year Right

I started year 2009 with high hopes.
I have written down things that I want to achieve and aspire to do this year.
I even made a simple dream board for this. Sabi kasi nila, visualization is very powerful.
I said I'll work hard this year. Not that I didn't work hard last year. The thing is, I have the tendency to be complacent.
Well, I hope I don't carry that attitude this year.

Here's the list of some of the things that i wish to do and have for this year:

1. Finish reading at least one book every month.

2. Learn a new word everyday.

3. Say my prayers more often.

4. Find time to meet old friends.

5. Moderate.

6. Do out of town FW.

7. Save more money.

8. Buy a washing machine and ref for the family.

9. Have a vacation.

10. Buy myself a laptop.

11. Have a date at least once a month.

12. Cook something special for the family at least once a month.

13. Save up for master's degree or law school.

14. Get promoted on my first year at the company or before the year ends.

15. Improve my work habits.

16. Learn a sport. Stretch para pumayat. Lose weight.

17. Dress up more nicely. Self make-over.

Hope to read this start of next year and see which of them I was able to achieve and attain.

First day of work for me for 2009.

My boss gave me a task or two to do for today. Not that they were the only tasks I had for this day. It was a task along with the other taks I had to finish COB today. I was able to accomplish it. But not accomplish it well. My boss had to do some revisions over the work that I submitted to her. They were not major revisions, yet I feel like a novice who had just started work a few weeks back when in fact, I've been here for more than four months already.

I hope to be able to submit something to my boss and other colleagues that is free of errors or mistakes. I hope I could be OC. I hope to hear some words of commendation from them. I hope someone could assure me that I am on right track and lead me back to it if ever I fall astray.

A few weeks before regularization. I hope to be able to accomplish something more substantial than what I have done thus far.
